About this listing
Overview SIFF Cinema sells on-screen advertising on five screens in Seattle's three nonprofit SIFF cinemas, one of them the former Seattle Cinerama, whose 90-foot curved screen SIFF bought with the building in 2023 and reopened as SIFF Cinema Downtown. Spots run before the feature as 15- or 30-second trailers or as custom slides, in flights from four weeks to a full year. SIFF is the Seattle arts nonprofit behind the Seattle International Film Festival, which it has run since 1976, and in 2025 it took NFFTY, the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, under its umbrella. On site SIFF Cinema Downtown sits on 4th Avenue in Belltown. It opened in 1963 to show three-strip Cinerama and seats about 560 between a main floor and a balcony. The screen runs 90 feet long and 30 feet high, built from 2,000 louvered strips. The booth runs Cinerama, 70mm film and laser digital. Seating is reserved. SIFF Cinema Uptown, on Queen Anne Avenue North, has three screens for new releases and special events, and SIFF Film Center on the Seattle Center campus is a 90-seat room with a classroom and exhibition space around it. Across the three houses the program mixes Hollywood releases with independent, foreign-language and horror films, animation and restored classics, plus repertory series on 35mm and a monthly SIFF Movie Club that screens a classic and then talks it through. Brand presence A trailer or slide plays on the full screen to a seated house ahead of the feature, and SIFF's advertising runs across all five screens. SIFF approves every trailer and slide before it runs, and it does not take advertising for competing cinemas or for films that are not playing at SIFF.
