Overview Sporting JAX is Jacksonville's professional soccer club, with a women's team in the Gainbridge Super League and a men's team in the USL Championship, and its ownership group, led by Ricky Caplin, includes Tim Tebow and Fred Taylor. The women debuted in 2025, and the men played their first home match on March 7, 2026, against Hartford Athletic. Below the two pro sides the club runs an academy and USL League Two and USL W League teams as a pathway to the pros. In the club's usage JAX means seven Northeast Florida counties: Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns. Matchday Home is Hodges Stadium, a 9,400-seat ground on the University of North Florida campus that opened in 2004 and is shared with UNF's soccer and track and field teams. It has hosted international rugby, a Super Bowl practice and the U.S. men's national team in World Cup training. The stadium sells premium seating and luxury field suites. Men's home matches run as theme nights, and the 2026 home opener carried a halftime concert by country singer Madison Hughes. Talent and Influencers Liam Fox was appointed men's head coach in November 2025, and defender Dida Armstrong and forward Luc Granitur became the men's first two signings that December. In August 2025 former U.S. women's national team goalkeeper Briana Scurry worked a Sporting JAX youth clinic and business luncheon. Track record The club took its name and crest in 2023 after asking the community, and designed one badge for the women's and men's teams alike. The women's franchise was awarded in May 2023. In March 2026 the club put forward plans for a 15,000-seat stadium of its own near St. Johns Town Center. Brand presence adidas makes the kit. Ascension St. Vincent's runs a Patient Spotlight content series with the club, and the Sporting JAX Foundation runs free youth soccer clinics. Partner positions run from the team benches and static signage at Hodges to a jersey patch and integration in the club's broadcast and digital content, including The Sporting JAX Report, the club's own TV show. Local companies can also join the Business Alliance, the club's networking program for Jacksonville businesses.
