Overview The Downtown Summerlin Lunar New Year Parade sends an oversized dragon, fan dancers, stilt walkers and performers from the Lohan School of Shaolin down Park Centre Drive on or beside the first night of the new year, which in 2026 meant a Tuesday evening, February 17, for the Year of the Horse. The 2026 parade was the ninth. It is free, and the district dresses its common areas for the holiday from early February. Downtown Summerlin is the shopping and dining center of Summerlin, a 22,500-acre Howard Hughes community in western Las Vegas. On site Festivities start at 5:30 p.m. and the parade goes at 6. Before it, the district puts up oversized numerals of the new year at the Macy's Promenade and a larger-than-life Chinese dragon at The Dining Arroyo, and in 2025 a photo wall near H and M. In 2025 the presenting brand poured a free beer tasting for guests 21 and over at The Dining Arroyo in the ninety minutes before the parade. Talent and Influencers The parade is staged in partnership with BEST Agency and features the Lohan School of Shaolin; the 2024 edition also featured K-Star Training Academy. Track record The parade has run every year since 2018, each time timed to the holiday: January 22 in 2023, February 9 in 2024, January 29 in 2025 and February 17 in 2026. Kirin Ichiban presented the parade in 2024 and 2025, and Minero General Contractor in 2026. Danielle Bisterfeldt, Summerlin's senior vice president of marketing, called it in 2026 a must-see seasonal tradition for many in the community. Brand presence The presenting partner's name goes into the parade's paid advertising, including the Review-Journal, radio and a mobile billboard, a static billboard on the 215, Summerlin's website, social, email and app, the district's digital pylons and Festival Plaza Drive media board, the voiceover before and after the parade and the signage along the route. Beyond that, the parade takes custom activations; the 2025 tasting at The Dining Arroyo is one example of a sponsor putting product in hands on parade night.
