Overview Rock Rink is a real-ice skating rink that Downtown Summerlin builds in Las Vegas each holiday season, open from mid-November to mid-January with a 40-foot holiday tree standing over the ice. For the 2024 season it was an 8,000-square-foot rink on The Lawn near The Pavilion, with a holiday train circling it. Downtown Summerlin is the town center of Summerlin, a 22,500-acre master-planned community owned by Howard Hughes, and its streets also hold Red Rock Resort, City National Arena, where the Vegas Golden Knights practice, and Las Vegas Ballpark. On site Skates are rented at the rink's skate shop, and each skater gets a wristband marked with the end of a 75-minute session. Holiday music plays over the ice, and holiday drinks and snacks are sold at the rink. In 2025 appointments were encouraged because walk-up capacity was limited, the rink took private buyouts for the first time, and Las Vegas Ice Theater skated shows on three Sundays. The rink sits inside Downtown Summerlin's holiday season: Santa's chalet on the Macy's Promenade runs to Christmas Eve, and in 2025 a holiday parade with snow and nearly 100 local youth performers ran every Friday and Saturday night. Track record Rock Rink counted more than 36,000 skaters in the 2023 season, and the Airstream serving drinks beside it sold more than 12,000 hot cups. Live Nation presented the 2024 season and Lexus the 2025 season. Brand presence The presenting sponsor's name runs in the rink's paid advertising, from Las Vegas Review-Journal ads and radio to a mobile billboard and digital billboards on the 215, and on the digital pylon signs at Sahara and the 215, Summerlin Centre Drive and Pavilion Center Drive. At the rink it gets its logo on five rink panels, a mention in the rink voiceover, a branded gobo projected onto the ice and a private skate night for 20 guests. A separate holiday cup sponsorship puts a logo on the hot cups or coffee sleeves sold through the season.
