About this listing
Overview Tacoville is a three-day Latin food and music festival at Naper Settlement, the 13-acre history museum campus in downtown Naperville. Green Curtain Events built it as the suburban sister of Tacos y Tamales, its festival in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, and brought the same format out to one of the most affluent suburbs in the Midwest. Friday runs into the evening, and Saturday and Sunday go from noon until night. On site More than 20 food vendors and trucks from across Chicagoland serve carne asada, al pastor, birria, quesadillas, elotes, churros and tamales. Outdoor bars pour beer, margaritas and micheladas. Local merchants sell handmade goods and apparel along an art alley, and there are competitions, a kids area and custom-built photo spots. The main stage carries mariachi, cumbia, Latin pop and rock en español, and a separate DJ stage plays between sets. Audience Green Curtain puts its average attendee at 29, with a core of 25 to 44. About 76% hold a bachelor's degree, 57% earn $75,000 or more, and 89% use social media. Kids under 10 get in free, so families come out alongside the 21-and-over bar crowd. Talent and Influencers Past performers include Sonora Dinamita, the Colombian cumbia group, along with Revolución de Amor (a Maná tribute), Rico! (a Santana tribute), Mariachi Cristal, Caribe Project, Calaveras LD, Symple, a Tito Puente tribute and Jocey's Selena tribute. DJs play all day on the second stage. Track record Green Curtain Events has produced Chicago festivals for more than 15 years. Its Tacos y Tamales draws over 70,000 people to Pilsen, the Great American Lobster Fest runs at Navy Pier, and WingOut sits next to Wrigley Field. Tacoville is the company's first festival in the suburbs, and the Chicago Tribune covered it ahead of the opening weekend. Brand presence Partners at Tacoville have included T-Mobile, Coca-Cola, Michelob ULTRA, Jack Daniel's, el Jimador, Estrella Jalisco, NUTRL, Stella Rosa, Rancho La Gloria and Andersen Windows, with Naper Settlement as host venue and Miracle Michael as charity partner. Tiers run from a 10x10 sampling space up to one exclusive sponsor, and the official tier puts the brand into drinks sold at the bar tents.
