Overview The Chalet by Sports Illustrated is a one-night party up the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel during the week of the Hahnenkamm ski races, held in the Sonnbühel mountain inn and capped at 200 guests. Guests start at the valley station, ride the gondola and skidoos up through the snow, and finish the night on a DJ floor on the mountain. The first one ran on Friday, January 23, 2026. Sports Illustrated produced it with Hofmann Experience, Sophie Hofmann's events and marketing company in Kitzbühel and Vienna, and Charlie Raposo's 1936 Collective. Sports Illustrated is owned by Authentic Brands Group, whose Authentic Live division runs the magazine's events calendar. On site The 2026 night ran in order. Mario Hofferer, a world champion bartender, poured the welcome drinks at the valley station. At the top, KATE and KON served champagne and caviar, then came a flying dinner with signature cocktails, and DJ sets from SAUBER (Bausa), VALENZUELA (Joshi Mizu) and Robin Paul closed the evening. For the night, the design studio Rass and Dorner rebuilt the old inn as a lounge of wood, glass, light and fire. Snowmobiles shuttled guests on the mountain. Audience The first guest list mixed executives, ski racers and personalities. Authentic Brands Group's Michael Sherman and former Paramount chief executive Bob Bakish were in the room with Alena Gerber, Nadine Mirada, Annika Gassner and Ivana Hoti. Talent and Influencers The first edition drew downhill names: Daron Rahlves, Luc Alphand and Jan Hudec were there, with Steven Nyman and River Radamus, who came as Spyder athletes. Brand presence Seven supporting partners backed the 2026 night: Cloudflare, Spyder, KitzSki, the Austrian Alpine Open 2026, the Tegernseerhof and Markowitsch wineries, and Enoteca. Spyder brought its athletes and promoted the launch on its own channels, and Sports Illustrated's events desk wrote the night up on si.com.
