About this listing
Overview The Crown is a rooftop bar and event space on the 21st floor of Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown, with two outdoor terraces that look across Manhattan from the Financial District to Midtown and out to the Brooklyn Bridge. It works as a DJ-led rooftop bar on regular nights and books out for private events, from 30 guests in the indoor breezeway to a full buyout of both terraces and the lounge. Chef Dale Talde, David Massoni and John Bush opened it in May 2017. Concrete Hospitality Group, a New York operator founded in 2013, runs it and handles its events. On site The floor splits into rooms that combine. The indoor breezeway holds 30 on its own and 80 with the downtown terrace. The indoor lounge holds 55, or 65 using the bar, and 150 with the uptown terrace. Indoors and outdoors each top out at 150, and the whole roof takes 250. There is also a private VIP lounge. The kitchen sends out passed canapes such as crispy pressed sushi, lobster rolls with yuzu mayo and pork belly bao, alongside stations for charcuterie, flatbreads and dips, and dessert that runs to mochi and madeleines. Hotel 50 Bowery sits between Canal and Bayard Streets. Brand presence A brand books The Crown the way a host does: as a buyout or a partial takeover, with the venue's team running the bar and the food. Bar service comes in three tiers, House Select, Crown and Crown Premium, and the top tier pours Grey Goose, Patron, Bombay Sapphire, Hennessy VSOP and Johnnie Walker Black, with a cocktail and a mocktail as an add-on. Hosting packages bundle a welcome board, passed canapes, a platter or station and three hours of bar service.
