About this listing
Overview The Event at Rebecca Farm is a five-day eventing competition - dressage, cross-country and show jumping - on a farm outside Kalispell, Montana, and it is an Olympic qualifier and one of only five U.S. events that run the CCI4*-L. More than 600 entries compete across 14 divisions, from Beginner Novice up to four-star, and registration fills within hours of opening. Admission is free. Montana Equestrian Events, a nonprofit, puts it on each July, with Glacier National Park in view from the grounds. On site The cross-country courses carry about 150 obstacles, with five water complexes worked into the combinations. The Shopping Fair runs Thursday to Sunday with more than 90 vendors from across the Northwest selling Montana-made goods, art, apparel, jewelry and equine products, beside food stands doing barbecue, Asian dishes, ice cream and shaved ice. The Kid Zone has free pony rides, face painting and crafts. Reserved tents at Arena 1 and on Spectator Hill seat sponsors, patrons and officials with snacks all week and buffet lunches at the weekend, and on Thursday evening the Start Box Party opens the week at the Rebecca Farm Pavilion. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The competition streams live on the event's YouTube channel. Audience The core of the crowd is the competition itself: several hundred riders, each with a team of grooms, owners and trainers, who come from across the country. Families from the Flathead Valley and out-of-state spectators walk the grounds around them, and more than 5,000 people a year go through the Shopping Fair. Talent and Influencers James Alliston won the CCI4*-L in 2026 on HMR Rolan, his fourth four-star long title at the farm. The other 2026 winners included Julie Wolfert on SSH Playboy in the CCI4*-S and Sarah Ertl on Redwood Quality in the CCI3*-L. Chris Barnard designed the 2026 show jumping. The Mai Baum Award, named for Tamie Smith's retired horse, was first given that year. Track record Becky Broussard started the event in 2002 to bring top-level competition to riders in the West, and more than 250 competitors came the first year. By 2004 it had USEF Gold Cup Series status and FEI World Cup recognition. She died in 2010 and was inducted into the USEA Hall of Fame in 2015; her daughter Sarah organizes the event, and the 2026 edition was its 25th year. Halt Cancer at X, which Sarah started in 2012 in her mother's memory, had awarded more than $1.1 million to breast cancer research and Flathead Valley nonprofits by late 2025. The event puts its annual economic impact on the local economy at several million dollars. Brand presence Sponsorships, private donations, and competitor and vendor fees are what fund the event. The Bronze to Platinum levels are built around the grounds: tent seats at Arena 1 and Spectator Hill, Start Box Party invitations, banners, PA reads, a branded show jump and space in the Shopping Fair. The limited-edition packages lean toward the national eventing audience, with naming on the four-star and three-star divisions, branded cross-country fences, a place in the awards ceremony, and livestream placement and commercials. Every competitor's goody bag carries sponsor items.
