About this listing
Overview The Light Park is a drive-thru holiday light show that bills itself as Texas' No. 1 holiday light park. Families stay in their cars and roll at 3 mph through a mile-long route of LED displays, light tunnels and animated scenes synced to holiday music on the car radio. One ticket covers the whole car. The season runs from early November into the first days of January at parks in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, plus a new walk-thru park outside Atlanta. On site Each park is built from scratch with a new theme every season. Cars arrive through a gateway arch into a check-in tent framed by four towering LED pillars, then pause in lanes to buy popcorn, drinks, light wands and magic glasses from staff in red overalls. From there the route runs through tunnels, light trees and animated scenes. The parks sit at Hurricane Harbor in Arlington and Spring, Typhoon Texas in Katy, Riders Field in Frisco, Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Samuell Farm in Mesquite, OKC Fair Park and Gwinnett Field in Georgia. Audience The core audience is families with children, along with couples and teens. Cars carry about three guests on average, and a visit lasts about 45 minutes and can stretch to two hours, all spent inside the show. Many families come back more than once a season, and the website logged about 18 million visits last season. Talent and Influencers DJ Polar Ice, the Official DJ of the North Pole, hosts every park. He spins the soundtrack on the park's own radio station, turns up in light displays and story scenes along the route, and fronts the marketing, social content, signage and merchandise. This season's storyline asks guests to help him save Christmas by powering up The Aura. Family content creators and influencers carry the parks on social media. Track record The Light Park opened with four Texas parks and has grown to nine across Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia, reporting record attendance along the way. This season's plan puts about $2 million into marketing: 65% on paid social, 15% on OTT, 10% on influencers and 5% each on radio and billboards. The billboards sit on the highways that feed each park. The parks have 102,000 Facebook, 72,700 Instagram and 13,000 TikTok followers. Brand presence Partners sign up by market. A presenting sponsor gets category exclusivity, integration across the whole drive and the DJ Polar Depot. The brand's logo sits on the gateway arch and loops on the LED pillars, and branded tunnels and displays line the route. Partners can also run in-car audio stories, sponsored menu items, app offers and street signage that stays up all season. Major and supporting sponsors take a smaller set of those placements.
