About this listing
Overview The Rooftop at Pier 17 is a 1.5-acre open-air concert venue five stories above the East River in Lower Manhattan, the roof where the Fugees played their first reunited show in more than 15 years, in 2021. Its summer concert series launched in 2018 with Live Nation booking and opening nights from Amy Schumer and Kings of Leon, and the Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty are all in view from the deck. Seaport Entertainment Group operates it. Pier 17 is the flagship of the Seaport, the old Port of New York shipping and fish-market district; ESPN broadcast from studios on the pier from 2018 to 2025, and the pier's Heineken Riverdeck holds restaurants from Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Andrew Carmellini. On site Concerts play on the open roof, and the premium spaces sit around it. The Heineken Silver Zone is a reserved viewing area near the stage with its own bar. The Patron Patio is a double-decker with a bar on the lower level and a stage-and-skyline view from the upper one. The Liberty Club, the most premium space, runs across an indoor lounge and two shaded patios, with entry by private elevator, complimentary food, private restrooms and a bar that stays open until 11 p.m. after the show; the stage is not visible from inside, so the set plays on the club's screens. The building wears its own light: a glass lightband designed by SHoP Architects wraps the top two floors, 2,000 fixtures across 50 glass bays, and is programmed in color for occasions such as Pride Week and 9/11 remembrance. Talent and Influencers Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Tate McRae, Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan, Billy Strings and The Lumineers have played the roof, alongside Ringo Starr, Diana Ross, Blondie, 21 Savage, Kehlani and deadmau5. Off the concert calendar, the roof has staged the UFC 244 press conference for Masvidal vs. Diaz in 2019, the ESPYs in 2021 and the four-day ApeFest in 2022, with Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Haim and LCD Soundsystem. Track record After its first season the venue was named Best New Concert Venue by Pollstar and a Club All-Star by VenuesNow. The concert series marked its fifth season in 2023. The roof also runs movie nights, fitness classes and private events outside the concert calendar. Brand presence Brands already hold named spaces here: Heineken has the Silver Zone and the Riverdeck, and Patron has the Patio. The partnership on offer puts a brand's name on the venue's VIP club, making it the brand's own club for every concert - indoor lounge, outdoor patios and a dedicated viewing area - with the right to hold private events in it. Around the club the package runs across the Seaport's physical and digital inventory: takeovers of the atrium LED screens, blade signage, an annual wrap of the lightband facade, content on the stage screens, a place in the concert series campaign and footer placement on the digital channels.
