About this listing
Overview The Snow League is Shaun White's professional halfpipe league for snowboarders and freeskiers, where riders are paired off in head-to-head brackets, run against run, and men and women ride for the same prize money. White, the three-time Olympic champion, launched it at Aspen Snowmass in March 2025, and freeski joined snowboard during the first season. Season One ran four events - Aspen, Yunding Snow Park in China, Aspen again and LAAX in Switzerland - on a $2.2 million purse, and points across the season decided a world champion in each of the four divisions. Season Two opened in September 2026 at Cardrona in New Zealand with a team World Challenge. On site Each event runs over three days: qualifying on the first, quarterfinals on the second, then semifinals and finals. In the Season Two format each head-to-head is decided over the best two of three runs, and riders must drop into both the left and right walls in their first two runs. The 2026 finale ran under lights on the halfpipe at Crap Sogn Gion in LAAX, where White handed over the first trophies. Around the pipe the league builds the Snow League Club, a climate-controlled structure the league bills as the best view of the halfpipe, and fills the weekend with concerts, welcome and championship parties, meet-and-greets with White and the athletes, hosted dinners and apres-ski. Talent and Influencers The first world champions, crowned at LAAX in March 2026: Yuto Totsuka of Japan (355 points) and Sena Tomita of Japan in snowboard, and Eileen Gu of China and 17-year-old Luke Harrold of New Zealand in freeski. Sara Shimizu and Ryusei Yamada won the snowboard finals at LAAX, and at the Cardrona World Challenge in September 2026 the winners were Shimizu, Yamada, Mischa Thomas and Fin Melville Ives. The Season One rosters also carried Ayumu Hirano, Gus Kenworthy, Maddie Mastro and Valentino Guseli. Track record An event win paid $50,000 in Season One, and the LAAX finale alone carried a $370,000 purse. NBC aired the season in the United States, with Peacock, and the league puts its broadcast reach at 175 countries; NBC and Peacock expanded their deal for Season Two, and Eurosport and TNT Sports picked up Europe. Its founding investors include Left Lane Capital, Will Ventures, Ares, David Blitzer's Bolt Ventures, the Wilf family's Wise Ventures, Linda Henry of Fenway Sports Group, and Boardroom, the company of Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman. Brand presence Partnerships run from the league down to a single stop: a global title partner takes naming rights on the league itself, a presenting partner takes one market's event, category partners hold exclusivity across every event, regional partners cover up to three territories, and an event activation is a 10-by-10 footprint with sampling. Above the event layer the league produces a docuseries on White and the founding of the league, year-round long-form athlete stories and short-form content during and between events that features its partners.
