Overview The Tulsa State Fair is Oklahoma's 11-day fall fair at Expo Square in Tulsa, and a gate ticket covers a concert every night on the Oklahoma Stage: the 2026 run went from LOCASH, Neal McCoy and the Gin Blossoms to Midnight Star and Waka Flocka Flame. It opens on the fourth Thursday after Labor Day and fills the fairgrounds with a midway, livestock and horse shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits and a food competition among its own vendors. The fair calls itself Tulsa's largest family event. On site More than 60 rides run on the midway, from the Crazy Mouse and Outlaw coasters to the Zipper and a Giant Wheel, and Downdraft and Super Miami were new in 2026. Music does not stop at the main stage: bands also play the Hard Rock Huddle Tent, the International Beer Garden south of the Ford Truck Arena, a Wine Garden and the Carousel Club inside the SageNet Center. Daily acts include a stunt dog show, a sea lion show in Kiddieland, stilt walkers and giant sway poles, and fireworks follow some Oklahoma Stage shows. In 2026 Disney on Ice played the Pavilion for the first four days. Concessionaires enter new dishes in the Awesome Eats competition - Savory Dish, Sweet Treat, State Fair Sips and, new in 2026, Traditional Fare - and every entry has to be on the menu and sold to fairgoers. Audience The program runs across generations. Small children get Kiddieland, a petting zoo and a mobile dairy classroom; 4-H and FFA members show the livestock they raised in the barns; and the Oklahoma State Fiddling Championships reached their 52nd year at the 2026 fair. The fair crowns a Miss and a Lil Miss Tulsa State Fair. Ballet Folklorico Sol Azteca plays the entertainment stage, and the 2026 concert series closed on a norteño double bill, Alianza Nortena with Geru y Su Legion 7. Track record The fair started in 1903 as the Tulsa County Free Fair, grown out of a street fair, and was first held at a downtown baseball park. It moved in 1923 to 240 acres donated by oilman J. E. Crosbie, the ground Expo Square still sits on, took state fair status in 1935 and merged with a spring livestock show in 1949. It skipped the years of both world wars and was canceled in 2020. Brand presence Names already run through the grounds: Pepsi on the fall concert series, Ford on the livestock complex and the truck arena, Hard Rock on a music tent and as the fair's official hotel, SageNet on the exhibit center. Smaller positions attach to specific places on the site, from a banner on the big wheel and the jumbotron to the International Beer Garden, the Midway Melodies stage at the east end of the midway, Kiddieland, a parents' lounge and a corporate suite.
