About this listing
Overview The Twin Cities Auto Show Party is the Twin Cities car dealers' kickoff to their auto show, held at Paisley Park, Prince's former home and recording studio in Chanhassen, with a private guided tour of the building for the guests. The Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association (GMADA) throws it. GMADA represents more than 130 franchised new car and truck dealers across the seven-county metro, and it produces the Twin Cities Auto Show, held in January 2026 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, which it calls the largest auto show in the Upper Midwest; the show has put more than 300 vehicles from over 30 brands on its floor. On site It is a hosted evening rather than a show floor: heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and a live band, with the tour of Paisley Park as the centerpiece. Paisley Park is where Prince lived and recorded, and it is open for public tours and private events. Audience The guest list is the dealership side of the business: owners, dealer principals, general managers and controllers from member stores, along with the GMADA board. Beyond the show, GMADA negotiates service-department labor contracts for its dealers with the Teamsters and Machinists and runs the Minnesota Advertising Standards program with the Better Business Bureau. Brand presence Sponsorship runs in four levels, from a presenting sponsor down to supporting. Toyota, Xcel Energy and Kwik Trip appear as partners on the auto show's own site.
