Overview The Union Street Festival closes Union Street in Cow Hollow from Fillmore to Gough for a free weekend in early June, and its fixed point is the Waiter Relay Race at noon on Sunday. Around it the blocks fill with food vendors, food trucks, local breweries, live music and more than 140 artists, designers and craftmakers. Sunset Mercantile presents it in partnership with the Union Street Association, the nonprofit it benefits, and the 2026 festival marked its 48th anniversary. Sunset Mercantile began producing neighborhood events in San Francisco in 2014. On site Both days run 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along a walkable stretch of the street's own shops, restaurants and bars. In 2026 the program had live music and DJs through the weekend, more than 20 Bay Area food trucks, craft beer, cocktails and mocktails, live screen printing with San FranPsycho, a collaborative Paint Temple and live mural painting all weekend by Francisco Franco. Families get face painting, henna, robotics demos and kid-friendly vendors. The festival is smoke-free, and the 2026 relay ran on June 7 as the Underwood Wine Waiters Race. Brand presence The 2026 festival page carried 19 sponsors, from Renewal by Andersen, Recology and Crunch to Bay FC and Bay Area drink makers including Fort Point, Otherwise Brewing, Griffo Distillery and Kyla Kombucha. Underwood Wine took the naming on the waiters' race, and San FranPsycho printed on site. Sponsorship runs in three tiers, gold, silver and bronze.
