About this listing
Overview USA Hockey is the national governing body for ice hockey in the United States. It is based in Colorado Springs. More than a million players, coaches, officials and volunteers in all 50 states hold a USA Hockey membership. It sanctions hockey from the youngest age groups through junior, college club and adult play, runs disabled hockey in six disciplines, certifies coaches and officials, and picks the U.S. National Teams for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and IIHF World Championships. Its National Team Development Program trains the country's top 16- and 17-year-old players. Partnerships run for a season or longer across these programs rather than a single event. On site USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, seats 3,504 for hockey, with VIP seating, four luxury suites, a drive-in theater and CJ's Brewing Company inside. It is home ice for the National Team Development Program and the Chipotle All-American Game. On Dollar Lake in Eagle River, Wisconsin, the Pond Hockey National Championships lay out rinks on the frozen lake, with cornhole games and live music off the ice. Every spring the national championships for youth, girls and high school teams fill host rinks around the country, with adult and disabled nationals close behind. On Try Hockey For Free days, local rinks lend gear to children aged four to nine for their first skate. Audience More than 65% of participant members are boys and girls aged 7 to 18. The typical member household is parents aged 35 to 44 with more than one child at home. Non-playing administrators and team managers make up a large share of the membership. Adult members play in about 600 leagues, and pond hockey teams come early and stay late on the lake. Talent and Influencers U.S. Women's National Team players Laila Edwards and Caroline Harvey fronted a partner's social content series alongside their families. NTDP alumni now in the NHL include Matthew Beniers, Brock Faber, Jake Sanderson and Tyler Kleven. The Chipotle All-American Game puts the top American NHL Draft prospects on NHL Network. The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame induction celebration enshrines new members each year and presents the NHL's Lester Patrick Trophy. Track record U.S. teams have won Olympic gold in men's and women's hockey and Paralympic gold in sled hockey, and the national program keeps winning IIHF world titles from the under-18 level up to the senior teams. Try Hockey For Free introduced more than 200,000 children to the game in its first ten years. Pond Hockey National Championship spots sell out within minutes. Adult hockey is one of the fastest-growing sections of the membership. Brand presence Chipotle holds title rights to the All-American Game and the youth, girls' and high school national championships. Discover presents the U.S.-hosted Rivalry Series games against Canada and the Try Hockey For Free days. Honda is the exclusive automotive partner and official vehicle, and supplies vehicles to national championships and player development camps. Long Drink names the pond hockey and adult national championships and pours on the lake. Partner messages reach members through USA Hockey Magazine and the age-group newsletters.
