Overview The USSSA Eastern National Championships are one of the largest girls' fastpitch softball tournaments in the country, played every July on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Wicomico County hosts the event with Worcester County and Ocean City, and USSSA East Coast Events runs it. Ten divisions from 10U through 18U play over three consecutive weeks, with the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury as the hub. On site Each week opens with a manager's check-in and meeting at the Wicomico Civic Center and an opening-ceremony parade, one of them on the Ocean City boardwalk stage. Teams then play pool games and a double-elimination bracket across eight fields in Salisbury, Delmar, Berlin, Snow Hill and Ocean City. Sponsors run daily Takeover days, a Marucci scavenger hunt and a team discount card that puts local offers in every player's hands. Spectators get in free at every park. Audience Girls aged 9 to 18 on travel fastpitch teams, with their coaches, parents and siblings. Teams book stay-to-play hotel blocks, so families spend a week or more between the fields, the beach and local restaurants. Recent editions drew teams from 17 states plus Canada and the Czech Republic. Talent and Influencers The top travel programs on the East Coast compete for national titles, with team trophies, MVP, pitcher and sportsmanship awards in every division. College coaches scout the older age groups, and a College Recruiting Seminar runs during week two. WBOC, WMDT 47abc, CoastTV and Delmarva Now cover the tournament every summer. Track record The tournament started in Wicomico County with 30 teams and has returned to the same home every year since, growing to about 350 teams over three weeks. Sports Destination Management named it a Champion of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. Organizers put the draw at more than 80,000 visitors and the economic impact at over $22 million for the region. Brand presence Current partners include Marucci, which runs the scavenger hunt, plus local names such as The Greene Turtle, Playa Bowls, Texas Roadhouse, Rita's, Burnish Beer Co., Bourbon Street on the Beach and the Salisbury Zoo. Packages scale from a place on the discount card up to presenting rights, with field banners, social posts, logo placement, Takeover days and a presence at the manager's meetings where every team's coach checks in.
