Overview The Washington Town and Country Fair is five days of concerts, motorsports and a 20-ride midway every August in Washington, Missouri, about 50 miles west of St. Louis, and one gate admission covers all of it, parking included. Food, drink and games of chance are the only extras. The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce runs the fair as one of its divisions, and the fair dates to 1929. On site Concerts play the Pepsi Main Stage. In 2026 the motorsports arena ran bull riding with barrel racing on Wednesday, monster trucks on Thursday, truck, tractor and mini-rod pulls on Friday and Saturday, and stadium motocross on Sunday. The midway takes no extra tickets or wristbands. Agriland is the hands-on farm corner: a petting zoo stocked by Deppe Farms and Riegel Dairy, a combine cab, sandboxes filled with corn, soybeans and wheat, kids' and adult Super Farmer contests, a pony hop rodeo and a pedal tractor pull. Around them run the parade and the wagon parade, livestock shows, a queen contest, a cornhole tournament, Brewfest and Wing-Ding, a classic car show and the Family Fun Center. Audience Families come in from Washington itself, from St. Louis and from Columbia. The fair is built by the town: fair board members, committee members and service-organization volunteers put in about 37,000 hours a year, and the profits go back out through the Chamber and those organizations. Talent and Influencers The main stage books national acts on the gate price. The 2026 bill ran Tucker Wetmore, Brantley Gilbert, Switchfoot with Fuel and Lit, and Adam Wainwright. Earlier headliners include ZZ Top in 2021 and 2025, Styx in 2002 and 2019, Ted Nugent in 2002 and 2010, Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2013 and Kenny Chesney in 1998. Track record The fair marked its 50th anniversary in 1979 and ran under the theme Cheers to 90 Years in 2019. The Chamber puts its local economic impact above $1 million a year across two decades. Brand presence Sponsors put their names on the fair's own structures: Pepsi on the main stage, Radio Comm and Jasper Builders on the motorsports arena. Recognition also runs through banners on the grounds and at the West Gate, the parking tram, live announcements, the printed brochure and newspaper supplement, the fair website and digital schedule, and a daily highlight video, and sponsor packages carry season passes, parking and VIP concert passes.
