Overview World Dumpling Fest is a two-day street festival in Lincoln Park built around one food, the dumpling: in 2026, 17 Chicago neighborhood restaurants cooked Polish, Nepalese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese and Latin American versions while groups from the city's cultural centers performed on stage. Special Events Management produces it as a fundraiser for the Chicago Cultural Alliance, and the 2026 edition in Wrightwood Park was its sixth. The Alliance began in 1998 as the Field Museum's Cultural Connections program, went independent in 2008, and represents 52 cultural heritage museums, centers and historical societies across 40 Chicago neighborhoods and 11 suburbs. On site Wrightwood Park fills with dumpling stalls, a performance stage, a merchant market selling jewelry, clothing and artwork, and a Family Zone run by the Kohl Children's Museum from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday runs to 10 p.m. and Sunday to 8. Food and drink are bought with tickets sold on site, and a VIP ticket adds seating, upgraded bathrooms and drink tickets. The 2026 restaurant list included Union Dumpling House, Menya Jiro, Himalayan Restaurant, Tandoor Char House, Kinnaree Thai Kitchen, Cafe Tola, Polombia and Home Bakery. The festival is all ages. Talent and Influencers The stage program ran to more than 15 cultural performances over the 2026 weekend, several presented by the city's cultural institutions: the Tep Nimmit Dance Troupe from the National Cambodian Heritage Museum, the Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums Band from the Irish American Heritage Center, the Korean Performing Arts Center, the Center of Peruvian Arts and Friends of the Gamelan's Javanese Ensemble. Kalapriya Dance Company, the Yin He Dance Group, Crossing Borders Music, Steven Cristi of Asian American Arts Chicago and the Momo Quartet from the Chicago Civic Orchestra also played.
