About this listing
Overview The Wyoming State Fair is a week of livestock shows, rodeo and carnival in Douglas, a town of about 5,000, and every night of fair week ends in the Ford Grandstand. In 2026 that meant a ranch rodeo, breakaway roping, two nights of PRCA rodeo and a demolition derby run by the Douglas Volunteer Fire Department. The fair was established in Douglas in 1905. Its grounds cover more than 137 acres and 60 structures, and they host over 400 other events a year. On site The exhibit halls carry the names of Wyoming forts: Fort Fetterman, Fort Caspar, Fort Laramie, Fort Reno and Fort Steele. Beef, sheep, swine, goat, dairy and alpaca shows run through the barns and rings, from Stotz Arena to the Longhorn Ring, and the Champion of Champions Showcase opens the week. Carnival Midway Attractions runs the midway until midnight on the last night. Free with gate admission are the Pepsi Stage, the Platte River Saloon, a beer garden, mini golf, a sheep wagon show, Everyday Ag and Resources of Wyoming education programs and a Wyoming singer-songwriter lineup. A state fair parade runs on the final Saturday. Audience The fair is built around its 4-H and FFA exhibitors. Youth horses and livestock arrive in the days before gates open, and exhibitors sleep in dormitories on the grounds through the week. In 2026 each day carried a theme - Exhibitor Appreciation Day, Youth and Hunger Initiative Day, and Military and Pioneer Day - and the PRCA nights were billed as Legacy Night, with a mutton bustin' pre-show, and Future Friday, with a Miss Rodeo Wyoming pre-show. Track record In 2026 Wyoming was a featured state pavilion at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. That March the fairgrounds released an expanded master plan for the grounds and event complex. Brand presence Sponsor names sit on the fair's buildings: Ford on the grandstand, Pepsi on the stage, Vyve on the vendor building and Stotz Equipment on an arena. The fair sells partnerships down to a single piece of the rodeo - the announcer's stand, the chutes, the crew - and to individual livestock shows, the carnival, the strolling acts, the wayfinding signs and the shuttle. Its partnerships coordinator builds custom packages and naming rights on request.
